I've just finished building my 4x5 version. I thought the book was very clear to follow. Before I started I bought a number of small clamps to hold pieces in place while glueing them.

I made two mistakes, I split the MDF bar across the end of the focussing screen by carelessness but was able to fix it easily by glueing and inserting some small dowels (bamboo meeat skewer).
Focusing screen

Hello,

I found the focusing screen as supplied difficult to use. (This was with 75mm f8 and 90mm f6.8 lenses.) Perhaps this is due to failing eyesight. However I found a supplier in Holland who makes superb screens which make focusing easy. Visit www.sheetfilm.be for GVB Groundglass who will make up screens to your dimensions with or without grids.

The measurements I gave this supplier were 129.9mm x 101.8mm and the screen supplied to these measurements fitted well.

Regards,

I'm thinking about a bulldog and had a few lens questions.

I currently have a LF camera with a Caltar 150mm lens on a Linhoff Lensboard, will this work as is with the bulldog. In terms of bellows draw and lens board type. What I really want to know is what is the max Film to Lens plane distance for the camera.
